The No-Pressure Friend You Didn’t Know You Needed at a Car Lot

Hi! I’m Tish — a quilt-loving, cat-momming, fun aunt–level friendly salesperson at Number One Auto Sales in Buckhannon, WV. I’m also a Nana, a storyteller, and someone who believes car buying shouldn’t make your stomach twist into knots.

I’m known around the lot for being the only female salesperson, the shortest person in the building (Tiny Tish, Big Deals!), and the one who explains the “money part” in a way that actually makes sense.

Before I ever sold a single vehicle, I worked in bookkeeping and accounting for a local business for nearly 15 years. Numbers, details, organization — that’s my wheelhouse. And it turns out, all of that comes in handy when you’re helping people understand things like financing, down payments, credit approvals, and finding the best deal for their budget.

I have also spent years quilting — which taught me patience, creativity, and how to take something complicated and break it down into simple steps. Turns out, those skills come in handy when you’re helping people navigate buying a car.

Here’s what you should know about me:

💛 I’m low pressure — truly.

I don’t chase people, I don’t push, and I don’t play games.
My job is to help you feel confident and comfortable.

💛 I listen.

To your needs, your worries, your budget, your family dynamics… all of it matters.

💛 I care about the stories.

Some people buy cars during joyful seasons.
Some during stressful ones.
Either way, I walk with you through the process.

💛 I explain everything clearly.

If you’ve ever said, “No one ever told me that before”…
You’re my people.

💛 I love helping folks find what truly fits.

Not what’s fastest. Not what’s most expensive.
Just what feels right.

I started Drive with Tish to create a safe, friendly corner of the internet where people could learn, laugh, ask questions, and feel understood.

So grab a seat. Take a breath.
You’re in good hands here.

No pressure.
Just Tish.

Why Winter Is Actually the Best Time to Car Shop (Hear Me Out)

Okay, hear me out… I know winter doesn’t feel like the right time to go car shopping. It’s cold. It’s snowy. The seat heaters take five minutes too long. And honestly, the only thing most of us want to do is stay inside with a blanket, a crockpot meal, and something warm to drink. But here’s the little secret most people don’t know: Winter is actually one of the BEST times to shop for a vehicle. Yes — even during a snowstorm. Yes — even when your boots leave little puddles on the showroom floor. And yes — even when all you really want is to stay inside with a blanket and a cup of something warm. Let me explain. ❄️ 1. Fewer Shoppers = More Attention for You Think of winter shopping like going to Walmart at 7 AM instead of 5 PM. The chaos stays home. The aisles are open. And you get a whole cart to yourself. When the weather gets cold, a lot of people press pause on car shopping. That means: • no crowds • no waiting behind five test drives • no pressure to rush de...

The 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk 4x4: The Little Jeep That Can Conquer Winter

I’m going to be honest — this 2018 Compass Trailhawk wasn’t on my list of “vehicles to look at first thing this morning.” I was just walking across the lot minding my own business, coffee in hand, trying not to freeze because West Virginia mornings have a mind of their own. Then I saw the red tow hooks , and I stopped like, “Okay… who are you ?” If you’ve ever had a vehicle sort of wink at you from across the lot, you get it. And when a vehicle winks at you in December cold , you pay attention. ⭐ Walking Around It Like I Just Found a Hidden Gem The matte black hood decal was the second thing I noticed — and with the sun bouncing off frost on the cars around it, that no-glare hood just made sense. This Trailhawk gives you: True 4x4 with Active Drive Low Skid plates underneath A higher stance for snowy backroads Those iconic red tow hooks for “if the driveway wins today” moments This isn’t one of those cute SUVs that panics at the first snowflake. This is the one that quietly says, “R...

The Sentence I Hear Every Day That Sounds Simple… But Isn’t

There is a sentence I hear almost every day, and on the surface, it sounds simple enough: “I want my payment around $300, but I don’t want to borrow over $15,000.” And honestly, I understand why people think that should have an easy answer. It sounds like it should be as simple as pointing to a vehicle, grabbing a calculator, and announcing victory. If only financing were that easy. One of the first things I usually explain is that the cheapest vehicle does not always create the cheapest payment. Yup, you heard me correctly and that usually catches people off guard.  Sometimes I just get a little nod, like they are mentally rearranging furniture in their brain. A bank may decide they only want to finance that vehicle for 48 months instead of stretching it out longer. Which means the price may look friendly… right up until the payment shows up wearing combat boots. That is how a $15,000 vehicle someone expected to land around $300 a month can suddenly show up much highe...
