Welcome to Drive with Tish — Your No-Pressure Guide to Buying a Car

If you’re new here — hi, I’m Tish! And if you’ve bought a vehicle from me, waved at me on the lot, or messaged me at 9 PM asking “Hey, what’s the payment on this Yukon?”… Welcome back! Pull up a seat. There’s no pressure here. Just Tish.

Let me tell you a little secret:
Unlike me, most people don’t wake up excited to visit a car dealership.
I get it. Totally.

It can feel overwhelming, stressful, confusing, or like one wrong move might cost you a fortune.
But that’s exactly why I started Drive with Tish.

💛 My mission is simple:

To make car buying feel like you’re sitting with a friend who actually explains things in normal-people language.
No pressure.
No fast talk.
No judging your credit or your down payment.
Just honest, helpful conversations — and maybe a joke or two, because life’s serious enough.

I’ve helped people who’ve:

  • had their car totaled (twice),

  • moved here from out of state,

  • been told “no” at other places,

  • needed a 3rd-row yesterday,

  • walked in with grandparents, kids, cousins, uncles, and one time…a very enthusiastic golden retriever.

And I’ve learned something:
Everyone, and I mean every single person, deserves to feel comfortable, understood, and respected when they’re buying a vehicle.

This space is where I’ll share:

🚗 Car Buying Confidence

Little tips that make the whole process easier — what to bring, how financing works, why down payments vary, and how to feel good about your decisions.

🚙 Real Customer Stories

(With privacy kept, of course.)

These stories are powerful. People overcoming challenges, families upgrading, folks starting new chapters, and sometimes… a good laugh from behind the scenes.

💡 Simple, Friendly Education

I explain things the same way I explain quilting or thread choices — easy, warm, no overcomplicated jargon.

✨ A Peek Behind the #1 Auto Sales Curtain

Because let’s be real… this place is never boring.

If you’ve ever felt nervous (or even dread) walking onto a lot — this blog is for you.
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t know what any of this means” — this blog is for you.
And if you’ve ever wished someone would just slow down and explain things — well… that’s kind of my specialty.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to take this journey with you.
No pressure.
Just Tish. 💛

Why Winter Is Actually the Best Time to Car Shop (Hear Me Out)

Okay, hear me out… I know winter doesn’t feel like the right time to go car shopping. It’s cold. It’s snowy. The seat heaters take five minutes too long. And honestly, the only thing most of us want to do is stay inside with a blanket, a crockpot meal, and something warm to drink. But here’s the little secret most people don’t know: Winter is actually one of the BEST times to shop for a vehicle. Yes — even during a snowstorm. Yes — even when your boots leave little puddles on the showroom floor. And yes — even when all you really want is to stay inside with a blanket and a cup of something warm. Let me explain. ❄️ 1. Fewer Shoppers = More Attention for You Think of winter shopping like going to Walmart at 7 AM instead of 5 PM. The chaos stays home. The aisles are open. And you get a whole cart to yourself. When the weather gets cold, a lot of people press pause on car shopping. That means: • no crowds • no waiting behind five test drives • no pressure to rush de...

The 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk 4x4: The Little Jeep That Can Conquer Winter

I’m going to be honest — this 2018 Compass Trailhawk wasn’t on my list of “vehicles to look at first thing this morning.” I was just walking across the lot minding my own business, coffee in hand, trying not to freeze because West Virginia mornings have a mind of their own. Then I saw the red tow hooks , and I stopped like, “Okay… who are you ?” If you’ve ever had a vehicle sort of wink at you from across the lot, you get it. And when a vehicle winks at you in December cold , you pay attention. ⭐ Walking Around It Like I Just Found a Hidden Gem The matte black hood decal was the second thing I noticed — and with the sun bouncing off frost on the cars around it, that no-glare hood just made sense. This Trailhawk gives you: True 4x4 with Active Drive Low Skid plates underneath A higher stance for snowy backroads Those iconic red tow hooks for “if the driveway wins today” moments This isn’t one of those cute SUVs that panics at the first snowflake. This is the one that quietly says, “R...

The Sentence I Hear Every Day That Sounds Simple… But Isn’t

There is a sentence I hear almost every day, and on the surface, it sounds simple enough: “I want my payment around $300, but I don’t want to borrow over $15,000.” And honestly, I understand why people think that should have an easy answer. It sounds like it should be as simple as pointing to a vehicle, grabbing a calculator, and announcing victory. If only financing were that easy. One of the first things I usually explain is that the cheapest vehicle does not always create the cheapest payment. Yup, you heard me correctly and that usually catches people off guard.  Sometimes I just get a little nod, like they are mentally rearranging furniture in their brain. A bank may decide they only want to finance that vehicle for 48 months instead of stretching it out longer. Which means the price may look friendly… right up until the payment shows up wearing combat boots. That is how a $15,000 vehicle someone expected to land around $300 a month can suddenly show up much highe...
